Note: These samples are intended to give you an idea of what the program is like but do not contain the entire contents for that week of the program
Here are a few pages of samples of the discovery learning material provided for one of the weeks of the Lost Heroes package.

To teach the children that God sees being a "hero" very differently to the way we see it.
Luke 9:46-48
... the package contains a paragraph to put it in perspective ...
Each week there needs to be time set aside to worship God in song. It is a great way to start the time together and focus on God. Included in the package is a CD with 6 songs provided with vocals and/or backing tracks that follow on after the first 6 songs. The masters of the words to these songs are in Appendix F or in internet resources.
Song Suggestions for this week:
1. (CD- Train me - Track 1/ Backing Track 7)
2. (CD- I Belong - Track 6/ Backing Track 12)
Key Word: DISCOVERY
This week's word is "DISCOVERY". You might like to have them placed someone (in large writing) each week for them to be revealed or use the internet ppt that is provided in the internet resources to play at the beginning of each weeks teaching.
"Pick the Hero" - Game Show
(See Internet resources for PPT game)
Play the game of pick a face, having points behind them and get three kids to play against each other in the "pick a face" game. The game is set up for you already on the internet resources. You might like to change any faces you feel are not as relevant to the children you minister to. Each face will have information behind them about what heroic act they have done. The child that chooses the child should win. As they choose a picture it is turned around and the person's name and what they are famous for is revealed. The points are covered up until the end.
If you can have some sort of beep and buzzer things that kids have to press it would add to the fun. As the children pick faces reveal how many points have been awarded to those playing the game. The team with the most points wins.
(Questions provided in package)
Q: Why do you think this child got the most points?
Whether you know these people or you don't, even though we think they are heroes or the T.V or magazines says they are heroes, When Jesus was asked the question of "who is the greatest ?" he took a small child and said the one who seems the "least" in everyone else's eyes is the greatest in his eyes. You're never too little or too young to be a hero! Jesus had a very different way of looking at things.
